Wednesday’s Word-Edition 84

“When despair for the world grows in me and I wake in the night at the least sound in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be, I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.

I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief. I come into the presence of still water. And I feel above me the day-blind stars waiting with their light. For a time I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.”

Wendell Berry

Interesting you put this up today on your blog.

When W.Berry spoke of the despair of the world, we have yet to see the worse as more of it is to come, but we should look forward to it with great joy in our hearts even today with a U.S. Government spending out of control and with a Senate that is controled by just one party who fails to even pass or agree with the other government house on a speding bill.

It truly is the wild things that do not even understand the taxes being put on us and our children in the future.

Yes Sis it is the quiet of His creation that gives us the silent peace that we all so need, in todays spiritual wars.

It is in His creation that we can still see the boldness of Him all around us.

From the baptism of the water even today, we seek to go back to the stillness of the water being ever drenched in Him.

He blesses us in the stillness of His creation. I often drive down the country roads where we live where the trees from both sides envelope the road like a canapy of greens.

I am always amazed at the many uncountable shades of green.

There is such peace in seeing the majesty of His creation.

:0) As the lake reflects light off the water, so may your new house be a place of light and peace, somewhere truly to come home to yourself xxx

Ahhhhh…that sounds wonderful. And Lord, may it be so. Thank you Ember. xxoo
