I’m thinking about friendship today, and how tremendously grateful I am for the friends God has given me. Some of you I’ve known since I was five years old. Some of you have walked with me through the wondrous/difficult marital and mothering years. Some of you I’ve never even met, yet still hold so close in my heart as true treasures. I thank God for each of you today, with tears….

I find it quite extraordinary to have found such a caring and meaningful friendship with you Julie. I feel blessed.
Roberta – I am so thankful to have “met” you too! I think sometimes the Lord puts kindred spirits together, even if they’re separated by many miles. You have been a great encouragement to me, and have sent me some of the best videos I’ve ever seen. God bless you – look forward to visiting soon!
Jewel, you have shown your heart to me through this difficult time…knowing my daddy was dying you let me sip tea, ask hard questions which had to feel abrasive as we talked about your mom and Dad’s death and giving me a safe place to cry and just be raw honest how I was struggling with his dying. I thought you could never top the “scrapbook savior” time, but you did. The emails that came saying you were thinking about me when I was feeling so shaken during my Dad’s last days with us were like hand rails on a slippery bridge. I was not liking this journey and appreciated so dearly that the Lord would put me in your thoughts! Then the beautiful card and my keepsake sheep… The note reminding me of my Great Shepherd… So perfect, so thoughtfu, so you know me… And sweet little Bubbah being a part of it…I didn’t think I could love her more…found a whole new tender towards her! Then Sharon blessed our socks off with the beautiful flowers for my dad and a window box of soon to bloom hyacinths… each day the little purple heads open a bit more. We are enjoying them so much!!! Your heart is showing up in your babies, Jewel! They have been so kind to us!!
So if you wanna talk friendship, I’m gonna have to talk about you…. You did it so right!!!

I was not even sure what to say except thank you, Ginny. You have lifted me and encouraged me by what you’ve said. And you have invested in my family so deeply, thank you just doesn’t cut it. But hearts can speak to hearts, so I’m trusting you’ll understand….LY
