Ganeida and Pat — always so nice to see your comments here — thank you. Yes, the way Corrie and Betsie learned to love is so beautiful and humbling. And I am nothing like either of them. 🙂 xoxo

I read “The Hiding Place” out loud to the kids when they were younger and I remember bawling at that part and how much that whole scene stood out. Her father’s words were just amazing and so full of wisdom. Love can be very challenging, especially when Christ commands us to love our enemies!

To see faith & joy & commitment grow as they grasp these truths is an absolute delight.

I love Corrie. She is far more gracious than I am. 🙂

Amen to all you both said, Nancy and Linda! Wouldn’t that be wonderful if a family would make that their motto — I’m happy and I want everyone to be happy? I was so afraid Barrow was going to die in the end, so I’m delighted with how it turned out for him. And Linda — that part of the story was so good. I loved the developing relationship between Violet and Isobel as the seasons passed, how they really did care so deeply for each other in spite of the constraints of class and their initial prejudices. Regarding comments — I feel so bad that Kay’s somehow slipped by me. But when a person leaves a comment it doesn’t post automatically — I have to “approve” it, so weird spam doesn’t just get published. I have a tiring amount of nonsensical comments. So depending on how close I am to the computer, you might see your comment post right away, or even take many hours. Thank you for your patience, all. Hugs to you both, Nancy and Linda…. xoxo

Amen to your segue Julie of “when Love is blocked ” related to Corrie’s story. I followed …& loved Cory ten Boone’s story for years & am always amazed how she’s touched so many lives. ….as for the ending of Downton…I especially liked when Lady Grantham and Mrs. Crawly teamed up to “unblock love” for Mrs. Crawley by storming her ill “boyfriend’s” home where his children were keeping him “captive” from her …& he left everything behind to marry her when she confessed her love for him & offered to care for him in his dying days…then found out his sickness wasn’t fatal as was previously diagnosed ….such an ironic sweet romantic scene for this elderly couple! 🙂

It reminds me of something Bates said in an earlier episode. I’m happy and I want everyone to be happy. this is a type of unselfish thought where happiness and love radiate outward instead of inward. Even Mr. Borrows got caught up with it. Even he found happiness.

Oh Kay, yours is such a hard situation. I will pray that the love you pour out on her and them will finally break through, in God’s power and timing. And that He will strengthen you as you wait. Is the course you mentioned by Neil Anderson? We are very familiar with that here! And I don’t know what happened to your lost comment — I never saw it come through. Gah. Don’t let that deter you…I am always blessed by seeing you’ve stopped in and by what you share, dear Kay. xoxo

But what do I do when I try so hard to love my daughter-in-law and she responds by trying to shut us out of my grandsons’ lives? How can I break through the block that she keeps building up?
We don’t have CBS here, though it sounds great. I am following a course called Freedom In Christ. It is wonderful teaching and I’ve already had a few light-bulb moments. 🙂 🙂 🙂
I commented on your blog quite recently, but it didn’t post for some reason. 🙁 xxx
