In reply to Kay in Cornwall. Our winters are extreme, Kay. And I think the other three seasons are so beautiful somehow we stay for that. And the pure air and water here. And the beauty of all the lakes and trees and rivers everywhere you look. But Cornwall is sounding awfully good to me... :) Michael loves pasties! xoxo

Hmm … Julie, I’ve always thought that maybe I had a twin sister and that we were separated at birth! 🙂
Love to you all in chilly Duluth. The weather where you live seems so extreme at times, Alan and I couldn’t cope with it. We’re so used to our temperate climate here that if even a small amount of snow does fall, the whole county grinds to a halt! Even the people in England (the country next to us 🙂 ) laugh at our Cornish reaction to snow. Alan says it’s because we are virtually an island (only about 5 miles of land joins us to England) and that’s what gives us a much more moderate temperature range down here as compared to ‘up country’ (the local term for anywhere east/north of Cornwall).

Strangely enough, my daughter and I were having a deep conversation over the phone last night that related to the first part of this quote. (And I’ve only just this minute read this post.) Louisa had been told that when you marry, it’s as if a mirror is held up to you and you see what you’re really like, warts and all. Louisa and I agreed that we don’t like what we see in our respective mirrors!

Satan. After missing over three weeks of work because of the pneumonia, I went back yesterday. Give Michael a hug for me.

You are in my heart and prayers today, Julie…may the warmth from God’s power, and the light from His love surround you and fill your home with His miraculous presence. I can’t imagine what 17 below is like. It was in the low 20’s here, and teens at night, a few days ago and I could not get warm.
