That is the truth, Nancy. I have seen God’s presence more in hindsight than any other time. I’m so glad you stop in and share, Nancy. xoxo

One of the perks of getting older is you can look back on your life and see God’s gentle touching and directing your path even when you were unaware of His presence at the time.

I am absolutely sure your husband and I know some of the same people, Mariah! I wish we could sit and visit a bit. And you could be there too. And maybe your cats. 🙂 xoxo

My husband grew up in a house on Crumley, about two and a half miles from Eckerman, on the other side of I-10.

You never have to apologize for what you share, Ember. I’m always up for a bit of beauty (or comic relief!) in the midst of sadness or hardship. I wrote a song for a friend as a wedding gift once, outlining humorously all the terrible things she’d suffered in her life. It was horrible. And terribly funny, I thought. Good thing she liked it and laughed! Anyway, I love the picture you paint here of the window with the white freesias in it. Lovely. And your last sentence – a true balm. Yes, how amazing that God takes us by the hand….may we never get over that. God bless your weekend, dear Ember…. xxoo

The window sill was taken up entirely with a trough where white freesias grew. So beautiful. And 3) My family moved house to a new build when I was three, too.

And I’m sorry you lived through so much bewildering sadness, and I thank God He found you and took you by the hand. xx

Thank you Helen, for what you’ve shared. Maybe someday we truly could meet…wouldn’t that be the biggest treat? In the meantime, knowing you here and on your blog is the next best thing.

We have so much in common, you and I – my parents divorced when I was the same age and I suspect I had very many of the same feelings and experiences you did. Like you I found a faith in those teenage years that has carried me through to today through the ups and downs that life has thrown at me.

Thank you for your words, Kay. I know what you mean about not finding meaning for some of the hardest times in our lives. We rest in Him during those times, don’t we? Love to you and Alan… xxoo

I too, believe that God uses the ‘bad’ times to help us grow. But I must confess, there have been bad times in my life for which I still cannot find any meaning.
The peanut butter and grape jelly/jam idea sounds very tempting, not that I should be thinking about such treats!;)
