I want to make a hermitage retreat. I have made many silent retreats at larger retreat houses, but never a hermitage. I was just editing my favorites and realizes you wee there. Probably because of the name Chicadee which my deceased mother loved so much. We have many that visit our feeder in our back & front yard. we live in Fort Sasakatchewan Alberta Canada. Where do you live.

It sounds completely wonderful to me. John attends a silent retreat each year – usually in November – at Demontreville Retreat Center. He has been going each year for approx. 30 years and it is always a highlight of his year. At first, I thought the silence would be “deafening” to me…but the older I get, it is more and more appealing.
