I’m sure I would feel the same as you, except I likely would have agreed to go, then been paralyzed by fear and unable to move.* The crew would have to halt all operations to stop and come cajole me into going, assure me it’s perfectly safe, and that I’ll have fun. My husband would be saying, “I can’t believe this! You said it was fine! LET’S GO!” My chin would tremble and I would force myself to go only –ONLY– to avoid the embarrassment of being watched by all the other participants while the crew unhooked me from everything and everyone mumbled under their breath about me.

*Could possibly denote a similar experience with a small prop airplane.
