His teacher had students separated into groups of 4 per table and Kyle shared a table with a darling Native American girl with the most beautiful long hair. On one of my volunteer mornings I was surprised to see Karla sporting a short new hairdo. I asked “Karla, why did you cut your hair?” She innocently responded, “My mom was tired of picking nits!” Kyle’s head popped up so fast and his big blue eyes got even bigger – the size of a dinner plate if I recall. Mine might have too! Needless to say, we did frequent and thorough searches for the pesky buggers and fortunately, found none!!! Interesting how such a small little creature can send people, especially moms, into such a frenzy. Thanks Julie for the smiles.

Though here’s a helpful hint. I work in the beauty industry and an interesting little tid bit is that Tea Tree Oil is a natural deterrent of lice.

A product such as Paul Mitchell Tea Tree shampoo or body wash or really any shampoo/body wash with Tea Tree Oil will help keep the nasty critters away.

I didn’t know this until a client of mine was telling me how a school teacher buys it all the time and has yet to have problems.
