Helen what a treat to hear from you. I remember so many of our exchanges over the years, and can still picture your blog and even photos on it. I am glad you retired and hope your coming times are peaceful and creative. You have all those gifts to make beautiful things. God bless you and your family too… much love! xoxo

Lovely to see that you had a wonderful Christmas – and I hope life is treating you well! I’m thoroughly enjoying retirement – I stopped working 2 years ago. 2025 was a really crazy year though – I said yes to every opportunity that popped up, so was away travelling for about 6 months of the year. This year I hope to stay home a bit more and enjoy my garden and the beautiful part of Switzerland I live in. Sending you my very best wishes for 2026 xx

And getting snowed in sounds divine. It is a rarity here in N. Alabama, but we do occasionally get a storm that shuts things down, especially if there’s ice involved. When I lived in NE, I had a dear friend who lived just a couple of blocks away, and when the snow forced things to close, we would gather our families together for a stew/chili night with fresh baked bread.

I will be staying in for New Year’s. If I am lucky, one of my nephews will come visit with his family. We were going to gather today, but 2 of his 3 little ones are battling a cough/runny nose.
