There are many songs I will listen to over and over but a couple favorites are “Captivate Us” by Watermark and “Small Enough” by Nichole Nordeman. Also “You Love My Anyway” by Sidewalk Prophets.

Hi Susan! I had read that this was an old time song that Amy and her husband reworked, using the same lyrics. How wonderful that you’ve sung it before. I had never heard it. God bless your week, Susan… xoxo

I love all three of the songs you listed, dear Kay. And when I sing “prone to wander…” the tears always fall. So glad you shared these and I know people will be blessed as they go to the links and listen. xoxo

and strengthened me is Blessed Be Your Name by Matt Redman.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnWKehsOXu8
‘When the darkness closes in Lord, still I will say, “Blessed be the name of the Lord”‘
These words were so empowering when I was alone and suffering from depression. I would sing them with real conviction when I was alone in my car or alone at home, just to let the enemy know that I knew and believed that God is all powerful. When my daughter left home to live in Wales, the words, ‘You give and take away’ held a very poignant meaning.
I also love Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4JxFMuGtXTU
‘Prone to wander, Lord I feel it’. The verse starting with these words contains some of the most honest, meaningful lyrics I’ve ever heard…
(Sorry to be greedy, but I’ve got to mention my all-time favourite: And Can It Be. The gospel wrapped up in one hymn.)
xxoo

I listened to both of these, Diane. The first one made me cry and the second one made me feel transported to an exquisite place. Absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing these…I hope others will click on the links and listen too. Xoxoxo

Lift Your Eyes Up, by Leeland http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVwRtt8cFCQ Truly kept me alive for awhile.

And, A Lark Ascending, composed by Ralph Vaughan Williams, played by anyone. Here’s one good version played by Janine Jansen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbcuteYm-EA

It is a longer meditation–beautiful!

Both so life-affirming.

Love you, Julie!

Diane
