I would have to recommend “Carry Me Home” by Sandra Kring. It is a sweet story set in the 1940’s about family and love and healing. It is a book that was passed from me to my mother and then to 4 of my sisters (Denise, Donna, Dori and Dixie). When it was returned to me it was in tatters and was being held together by a rubber band so I bought another copy and loaned the tattered one out again; I can’t remember to whom, but I never saw that copy again. You will laugh and you will cry as you read it. In the “about the author” section of the book I read that Sandra Kring has helped with support groups and workshops for adult survivors of trauma. You can certainly feel her passion for these people in her writing.
A book that I want to read is “To Kill a Mockingbird”. I’ve seen the movie more times than I can count (the 1962 film with Gregory Peck; was there ever a remake?). Hopefully I will get it read soon!
Book blessings to you too!
