I love the idea of a chalkboard area in your home. As I was reading it out loud in an admittedly very positive, enthusiastic way (ideas were forming in my mind regarding our home) Alan said in a very authoritative way, ‘Don’t even think about it!’ Oh, do you see the type of man I’ve married? Don’t you feel so sorry for me? 😉
However, we have compromised on the idea of a small board hanging on a wall somehere. (Grrr!)

In reply to Ember. Ember, I think the calligraphy your daughter did on your walls is a masterpiece, really. I wish she could come and do my chalk writings on my chalkboard wall whenever I decided to change them! And your reminder about what Jesus does in lives given to Him? Thank you....xxoo

Brilliant idea.

I have words on the walls too.

In the house we lived in when my children were tiny, we had a verse from an Ozark Mountain Daredevils’ song, written above the stove:
“There’s a fire in the stove
Keeping out the cold
Warming wine, and winter and babies and home”

In my tiny room now I have two bits of writing. One says:
“Foragers, scavengers, sages, seers
Stealthy as shadows
Quiet as mice”

It describes the life path I have chosen.

The other is near the resurrection cross hanging on my wall that shows Jesus as high priest of the order of Melchizedek who comes to help us in the battle. It says:
“Jesus remember me when you come into your kingdom”.

It’s to remind me that wherever the reign of Christ is allowed in, people are made whole.

I’m so looking forward to seeing your wall and its words!
