To answer your question: I remember his constant whistling- his unusual love for movie musicals. The liverwurst and mustard sandwiches he’d eat for his lunches. The smell of tools and oil and sometimes smoke on his jacket. I remember when he and I were in the church choir together and we’d drive there in his truck together and stop for treats on the way home. So much!

We “met” Michael through your blog and our subsequent emails, letters and telephone calls. Our lasting memory of Michael is when he joined you in singing Happy Birthday to Alan over the telephone on Alan’s 60th birthday.
So wish we could have met him in person. xx
