I love those - Grandma Hockey and Cookie! I'm almost afraid to wonder what we would be called if our grandkids used the same method. Grandpa Fish? Grandma Book? Or worse....

Thank you for your comments Sue!

We called my Dad's parent's Glory Grandma and Grandpa because my aunt Gloria(Glory) lived with them. My sister's grandsons refer to her as Grandma Cookie and their paternal grandma as Grandma Hockey.

I only had two grandmothers and one grandfather for most of my growing up years. My other grandfather died when I was 4 and while I remember him a little, I cannot recall what I called him. I think Grandpa. Anyway, my dad's parents were Granny and aforementioned Grandpa and my mom's parents were Nana and Pompa. Similar to Deb, my cousins called my Nana "Nana Pool" because she had a pool and their other grandmother was "Nana Bobby" because she had a "Bobby" (their mom's brother).

When my children were born they called my mom Nana and my dad Papa and their father's parents Grandma and Grandpa. My Nana became their GranNana tho she passed away shortly after my daughter was born and before my son. And the tradition continues, I am my grandson's Nana and my mother is his GranNana. My other three grandchildren call Curt & I Gramma and Grampa.

Thanks for sharing Jules, They are adorable! Merry Christmas!

Always, always, always enjoy your blog postings!!! My sister's kids refer to their grandparents as Grampa/Gramma Flowers (as they own a floral shop) and Grampa/Gramma Farm (you guessed it - they live on a farm!)
I love the picture!

We called our one set of Grandparents "Grandpa and Grandma" and the other "Grammy and Gramps."

However, my kids call all their grandparents "Papa and Yaya." "Yaya" started when Dillon couldn't say anything else and somehow that's what he came up with and it stuck. We have since discovered that in Greek, the word "Yaya" means Grandma!!!

Now they can both speak clearly and can easily say Grandma and Grandpa but they stick with "Papa and Yaya."

A couple other grandma names I know of from my friends' kids are "Dowie" and "Dubbie." The one who was called "Dubbie" thought that was better than "Tubbie!"
