So, is the kindle 'backlit' so one can read in bed without having a light on? I know that my husband would truly appreciate that!!!

Here's an interesting review: http://www.challies.com/archives/articles/the-perfect-technology.php

I don't think I would be as anti-kindle as he is. I would love to have one. The main thing keeping me from it right now is the cost. Also, I don't travel all that much. But I've never really connected with sitting down and reading e-books on computers or on my Palm. The Kindle looks so much more "book-like" with many electronic advantages like lightness and size.

Thanks for showing me yours a few weeks ago.

I have often thought that a Kindle would be so fun...I remember seeing one several years ago for the first time when Martha Stewart had one on her show. But, aside from the cost, my hang up has been that I too like the feel of a book in my hand, the ability to write in them, etc. I was glad to hear that you think that both can be enjoyed. I can definitely see the perks of having one when you travel!!!
