		<description>Dear Julie,
My husband, Michael Oldham (vice principal @ Traweek, &#039;67-&#039;71) and I had lunch with Fred and Kathy the other day. We agree that both Fred and Kathy were outstanding educators. Students are blessed when they have those special teachers at some point in their education. It meant a lot to him that you had posted this on the internet. We are both educators as well and have maintained a close relationship with them even though we moved to Mammoth Lakes where my husband was the principal of Mammoth Elementary and Mammoth High School and I was the high school resource specialist.
You write beautifully and I am sure that Fred had something to do with this gift of yours.
It is hard to watch Fred decline with his disease and ironically my husband has Inclusion Body Myositis and suffers with many of the symptoms that Fred deals with. They are both still wonderfully as mentally alert and maintain their special senses of humor.
Again thank you for sharing this wonderful tribute to Fred.
